4-5 Basic operations of items

Although the procedure for creating items varies for each item type, operations such as selecting, copying and pasting, placing, adjusting and aligning are common to all items.

This section describes these operations common to all items.

Item operations are performed from the toolbar, toolbox, and Items window.

Switches the lock mode (ON/OFF) of the selected item.

If a selected item is placed on a system layer, the overlap order of the same type of items will be changed.

If a selected item is placed on an added layer, the overlap order of all items in that layer will be changed.

(d) swd92_icon_46-1.pngMove to another layer

Moves the selected item to another layer.

(e) swd92_icon_70.pngMove to another level of the hierarchy

Moves items to another level of the hierarchy.

(f) swd92_icon_32.pngAlign-horizontal

Adjusts the horizontal position of an item.

(g) swd92_icon_33.pngAlign-vertical

Adjusts the vertical position of an item.

(h) swd92_icon_151.pngMove to grid coordinates

If the grid is displayed, moves the selected item to the specified grid coordinates.

(i) swd92_icon_67.pngAppend to repeat item

Includes a field in a repeat item already set.

(j) swd92_icon_68.pngDelete from repeat item

Removes a field from a repeat item already set.

(k) swd92_icon_69.pngSelect the target item of a repeat item

Selects items to repeat item among the items set to repeat.

(l) swd92_icon_137.pngMerge

Creates multi-items.

(m) swd92_icon_128.pngSplit

Splits multi-items back into individual items.

(n) swd92_icon_147.pngConvert item

Converts an item to a different type. The following items can be converted:

  • Convert a field to static text.

  • Convert static text to a field.

  • Convert four ruled lines to a rectangle (4 straight line becomes each side of the rectangle).

(o) swd92_icon_48.pngProperty

Displays the Property editor for the selected item.

(2) List / Hierarchy tab

  • "List" tab

    Displays a list of items placed on the Form Editor.

    You can filter items by type or keyword.

  • "Hierarchy" tab

    Displays a hierarchy of items placed on the Form Editor.

    Filtering is not available.

(3) Filter by item type

Filters items by selecting a type.

The default value is All.

(4) Filter features by keyword

Filters items shown in the item list by a keyword (item name).

The keyword to filter is part or all of the item name and is not case sensitive.

(5) Item list

Displays a list of items placed on the Form Editor.

When you select an item and click it, a mini toolbar (a group of buttons) appears.

In the mini toolbar, the button in the Item window is registered.
