4-4 Overview of items
Create XML form files by placing various elements on the page in the Form Editor. These elements are called "Items".
There are several types of items available, such as areas to output data from an application or database, different shapes with which to construct the form design, and items for the flexible control of output.
Reference
The property items that you can set for each item differ between the basic and graphic modes. You can switch between these two modes in Graphic mode in the Property editor. Select the check box to switch to the graphic mode.
For details, see "4-2 Basic mode and graphic mode".
You can select added fonts as well as default fonts in Full-width font and Half-width font in Properties for items that can display the characters such as field and static text. (For details on adding fonts, see "4-3-3 Set paper format")
However, the types of fonts that can be selected and the output results vary depending on the item mode.
For items in basic mode
You can select TrueType fixed pitch fonts.
Printer models that can output added fonts are PDF, EMF, EMFPLUS, PostScript, Prinfina Manager PS, DP Series, JPP and PCL5. When using SVF for Java Print, etc. and outputting on other models, the additional font is replaced with MS Mincho or an alternative font.
For items in graphic mode
You can select TrueType fonts (including proportional fonts).
In some models, text may be output as image data.
You can set default values for the properties of each item. For example, if values such as field size and line width are standardized in advance, you can save the time required to change these properties by setting default values. For details, see "4-3-2 Set initial values of items".
