The current restrictions are as follows:

Change of product name

Since February 18, 2018, the product name "SVF Web Designer" has been changed to "SVF Cloud Designer."
Read "SVF Web Designer" described in the manual as "SVF Cloud Designer."

SVF Cloud WebAPI

If you use a form definition that contains items in Graphic mode, use PDL that support Graphic mode.

The size restrictions for output image files are as follows. If you specify an image file that exceeds the relevant size restriction, an error will occur and the form will not be output.

One image file
5 MB
or less

Total for multiple image files in a single form output file
or less

The maximum number of records of input data is 30,000 records per one form layout. If exceeding the the maximum number, an error will occur and the form will not be output.

SVF Cloud Agent

A network printer cannot be unregistered in Printer tab on the SVF Cloud Agent Settings screen. To unregister a network printer, use Admin Console. A network printer can be shared with other agents. Therefore, if you unregister a network printer, verify that there are no issues by checking the relevant agents on Admin Console before doing so.

SVF Web Designer

Output barcodes may not be read because fine tune, such as width adjustment, cannot be done for outputting barcodes.

If you set automatic link field, Extended Auto Link mode will be "3."

Form definitions in "Form Definition/Sample" folder in SVF Web Designer cannot be used in initial state. To use form definitions, open and save them before use.

Points to Keep in Mind When Creating a Form Definition for Outputting Excel Files

Items in Graphic mode cannot be created in a form definition.

You should align each item to the grid when designing a form definition. Text items that are not aligned to the grid might not be output to the cells you intended because the output cell position is determined by the font size and the position of the item on the grid. Specifying Grid position only for Item position in Grid settings can prevent the print data from being output to an unintended cell position.

Number of digits in the field and number of characters in static text
If characters are output across two or more cells, the cells are merged. Multiple cells are merged so that the merged cell length is equivalent to the number of print digits (or the number of field digits in the case of a field). The merger starts from the cell in which the first character appears. Data in the cell that is subsequently output is ignored if any part of a field or static text overlaps because this would result in a merger of merged cells. Make sure that you place fields or static text not to be overlapped when you create a form definition.

Outputting text

You cannot specify the character pitch. The character pitch is fixed to "0." If you specify the aspect ratio, the end position of text strings is reflected in Microsoft Excel. Therefore, the merging range might change if it is configured to merge cells.

You cannot specify the aspect ratio. If you specify the aspect ratio, the end position of text strings is reflected in Microsoft Excel. Therefore, the merging range might change if it is configured to merge cells.

You cannot specify the outline, shadow, or rotation setting. These settings will be ignored.

You can specify the text direction only as Horizontal. The vertical text direction is not supported.

You can specify font types that are supported in SVF Web Designer. Font files are required for the Microsoft Excel display environment.

If the text strings to output contain both half and full-width characters, the font specified for Full-width font is used for the output. If the text strings to output contain only half-width characters, the font specified for Half-width font is used for the output.

You cannot use vertical writing fonts for output.

We recommend that you use an integer font size in design because the font size in Microsoft Excel should be specified using an integer.

If you apply the bold attribute, the output will not match the design because SVF Web Designer and Microsoft Excel apply different methods for drawing bold fonts.
The output position of characters is the same regardless of whether the bold attribute is applied in SVF Web Designer, but the display size of characters in Microsoft Excel will differ depending on whether the bold attribute is applied. Therefore, you will need to increase the number of digits for the field or make other adjustments.
For example, if you output text strings using the same font and apply the bold attribute to the second row only, they will be output as follows.

The data type of the cell will be either "numeric-type" or "text-type" depending on the data type for the field. However, static text is always output as "text-type" data.

If the FORMAT function is used in the edit-formula of a numeric-type field in the form definition, data is converted into the numeric display format in Microsoft Excel and then output. Even if the FORMAT2 function is specified, the application handles it as the FORMAT function. You can set only one FORMAT function in the edit-formula. You cannot specify combinations of functions, including if().

Line items are output as the borders of cells. You can use only horizontal and vertical lines. You cannot use diagonal lines.

Rectangle items are output as the borders of cells. You can specify only "right angle" for the corner type (Cut and even Round corners are output as Right angle).

Line widths, line types, and hatching patterns might not be output as designed because their specification methods are different for Microsoft Excel and SVF Web Designer.

You can use only colors that are available as palette colors in Microsoft Excel. If you specify any other color, it will be replaced with a palette color from Microsoft Excel.

The paper size specified in the form definition is used as the paper size for Excel files. The following settings are enabled for Paper size.
Postcard, A5, A4, A3, B5, B4, and Letter

Overlapping items might not be output properly.

Print size for an image item is only supported in output according to the "variable" image area. However, the print size might not match the designed size because image items are output based on the grid in the same way as when you output characters.

Barcodes are not supported.

You can output BMP, JPEG, GIF, or PNG images. Please note, however, that these types of images might not be output correctly depending on the formats or specifications.

If you want to print a number that exceeds 12 digits, you must specify the output format for numbers by using the FORMAT function in an edit-formula in advance, because the number will be displayed in exponential notation in Microsoft Excel (e.g., "3.70267E+11").

Up to 1,370 sheets can be output.

Due to Group Suppress setting, you cannot vertically merge cells with hidden data.
